Council Grants for Businesses Forced to Close

The next round of Council Grants has been released for businesses forced to close due to national restrictions. These grants are aimed at businesses in the retail, leisure, hospitality, personal care and sports facility sectors.

They can only be claimed if the business has been forced to close due to restrictions, not if the closure was a business decision. The business also has to be a viable, ongoing business.

Payments are based on rateable value:

• Less than £15,000 – grant of £6,239
• £15,000 to £51,000 – grant of £9,357
• Over £51,000 – grant of £14,035
