New Grant Funding 2025

There are new grants available now for SME businesses in the West Midlands region.

The Grant Programmes are open to businesses meeting the following requirements:

  • SMEs (Less then 250 employees)
  • Spend on the project(s) must NOT already have been incurred
  • Existing profitable businesses (min. 12 months trading)
  • Energy saving grant – Minimum 25,000kWh energy usage in last 12 months

ENERGY EFFICIENCY GRANT FUNDING

Areas: Birmingham, Sandwell, Coventry, Solihull, Walsall, Dudley & Wolverhampton

50% Funding Grant for SMEs

  • Replacement plant/Machinery to become more energy efficient
  • Solar panels – Grant up to £50,000
  • Ventilation (fans, distribution, destratification fans)
  • Heating (replacement boilers, burners, heat pumps)
  • Renewable technologies – Lighting (LED, controls, sensors)
  • Refrigeration
  • Compressors
  • Insulation
  • FREE energy audit is pre-requisite pre grant application
  • Minimum energy consumption of 25,000kWh per year

Capital Grant

Areas: Birmingham, Dudley, Cannock Chase, Shropshire

Capital Items: Plant, Machinery, Equipment, IT Hardware –Software, Websites

Up to £100,000 Grant Available

  • Relocation, expansion and growth of existing businesses
  • Develop new markets
  • Innovation
  • Improving systems and processes
  • Capital investment – i.e. plant, machinery and equipment
  • Refurbishment of existing premises to improve productive capacity
  • Must create jobs as a result of receiving the grant
  • 50% Match Funding

Shropshire Grant Programme

Capital grant up to £10,000 – 50% funding Grant is aimed at businesses employing up to 49 employees.

  • Capital investment – i.e. plant, machinery and equipment
  • Refurbishment of existing premises to improve productive capacity
  • Must create jobs as a result of receiving the grant
  • 50% Match Funding
  • B2B and B2C accepted

(not eligible: for software unless integral to the operation of machinery purchased as part of the grant)

The majority of funding programs offer 50% matched funding, sometimes tied to the creation of future jobs within the business. Alternatively, if you’re applying for energy efficiency grants, your business premises will need an energy assessment before submitting your application.

It is estimated that funding will run out by September 2025. So if you are interested, NOW is the time to start the process.
